Muslims across North America gathered in great numbers to attend RIS5convention. The convention was held from December 22nd to 24th at the MetroToronto Convention Centre. The convention theme was 'The Neglected Sunnah: Patience in the Face of Rejection', which discussed various aspects of theLife of Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him).
The convention showcased various speakers from across the globe like ShaykhAbdallah Bin Bayyah, Dr. Tareq Suwaidan, Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, Dr. TariqRamadan, Dr. Abdallah Hakim Quick, Imam Zaid Shakir and many more. It alsofeatured guest speakers Rabbi Michael Lerner and Mr. Robert Fisk.
Performances by Outlandish and Ehab Tawfiq were the highlights of theentertainment program. The convention was followed by a knowledge retreat, giving students an opportunity to study traditional sciences with some of the most distinguised scholars of our time. We thank all those who attended the program and all the volunteers who madethis program possible. May Allah accept our efforts!
